Divorce or Separation

Divorce or separation are big events in your life and they can make you feel a wide range of emotions. You might be confused, sad, angry, or even relieved about the decision.

It can be overwhelming, but you are not alone. It's useful to remember that each family's situation is different, and asking for support from trusted adults, like parents, relatives, or teachers can be helpful. With time and support the future will be brighter.

Our Experiences

By young people, for young people

"At the start of 2022 my mum left me, my brother and my dad. It was a very hard time in my life and I was already stressed due to being about to start my GCSE years. It was really hard for me to process and it was the first time I saw my dad cry.

"I feel like I had to mature very quickly from that point. He lost his job a couple of times so he is always stressed over money and work and I feel like sometimes he takes that out on me. I felt as though my dad became very emotionally absent in my life.

"I struggle sometimes but being with my friends helps as it allows me to take my mind off it."
